How To Begin Again

Blessings Soul Family!

I know that many of us are experiencing immense changes that threaten to destabilize us, confuse us, or lose vitality. Like Claudine Gay in her first post-presidency appearance, I too have been reflecting on my mother's power, resiliency, adaptability, and drive. And how I too am my mother's daughter. (Just as she is most certainly HER mother's daughter.)

When we stand at the threshold of a truly new beginning--no paved road ahead, no map--we must honor where we've come from, how far we've come, and the tools & wisdom we've acquired along the way. And, we must hold space for one more thing: our creativity.

It is this part of us that fosters inventiveness when solving problems, finds connections in the midst of paradox, and opens us up to taking risks. With this innate ally, the nervous energy which rumbles underneath our skin when we look out to the unknown transforms into excitement – a fire that emboldens our self-confidence.

We must remember how blessed we are to even have the option to begin again.

We must remember that this life is not over.

We must remember that we're still here.

We must remember that there is more available to us.

Our great undertaking during these times is to envision what's next, what's available now that wasn't before, and what's required, because we know we need both the capability and the capacity to embark on a new path.

It's time to build differently.
